I have quite some videos of different channels on this subject, so here we go.
General remarks: Several small towns, especially in the interior of the provinces of Chieti and L'Aguila have been rapidly depopulating. Hence the abundance of real estate available. Despite a lot of foreign buyers, the market does not recover. Italians living in Rome often have a weekend and/or vacation home in this region. For quite a few Romans Abruzzo is where they (or their parents) grew up.
Some villages get crowded in summer and empty in winter (except for the towns close to a wintersports area).
General opinion: best cities to buy. Note all are cities above the 20.000 inhabitants limit allowed to make you eligible for the 7% tax bracket. All three places are in the Chieti province ! Ortona and Vasto are coastal towns. Vasto is close to Molise.
